I noticed that Raptors had animal classification removed in V26 patch.
Sundawg: Raptors, Fish, and Gators in the Timorous Deep are no longer considered animals.
I am unable to find any real patch notes reference of this changing outside of forum posts that they were
changed to animals around 2002. It's clear that after that they were classified as animals.

Is the intention to change these back to animals later, or is there a definitive timeline elsewhere that shows they are not supposed to be flagged as beasties at this time?
If not, can the development staff consider leaving the classification intact?
Scouring through some EQ patch archive sites I did not find anything.
