Yeah, instancing has been suggested before, and I'd be for it, if I cared at all for the content at that level. When I started P99, I made a promise to myself to never being involved in the raid scene as it ruins the fun, imo.
Those against instancing say it spoil competition, which they think is a key part of the game. It's funny though, I played EQ live for 5 years and never encountered this thing called "competition," especially how it seems to be be played here. The only competition was the race to certain mobs to beat another guild. Never, ever saw any of this training that I hear about. That sort of griefing wasn't really tolerated by GMs when I played EQ live.
