All MMOs are going to have problems at release no matter how hard they try and make everything work from the get go there will be a problem even if its just the slightest thing. Theres something about thousands upon thousands of people flooding servers on the release of a game that just does not sit well with the servers, am i right? Even when expansions release we see issues with games. I dont think i can name a game that has not had an issue on release, its just the nature of MMOs, FFXIV wont be any different, thats not really what I'm worried about, i know it will exist. But Square in my own opinion has done the best in smoothing over their MMO (ffxi) compared to any other development team for any other MMO. But then again thats my own opinion, WoW continues to have constant problems, particularly b/c they try and satisfy what i claim to be the 3 different play styles, hardcore raiders, casual raiders, and PVP players, not to mention people who have no interest in PVP or raiding really but just want to enjoy the solo aspects of the game. TBH I quit WoW because Blizz was trying too hard to meet the needs of all these play styles, I just did not like the changes they made after Vanilla WoW. Anywho reasoning behind me liking FFXI/FFXIV so much is because it fits the game style I like. Group grinds are fun for me, I get to meet people, chat, and play a game, its a good time! Not to mention you invest so much time into your one character that once you start building him up leveling multiple jobs, etc there is a much bigger feeling of accomplishment where in a game like WoW you can max level in 2 weeks or less and raid gear yourself in another 2 weeks. Quick and easy to lose interest, at least in my own opinion.
