Been wandering the land of mmo's for the past 4-5 years buying every game out there, playing it to max and quitting. Been reading about p99 and of course am in love with the 'idea'... not sure if I'll be in love with the gameplay. So much of the original game and the memories I have are because of the people.

That's really what I'm looking for. I've had far better
gameplay experiences elsewhere, notably in WoW, but the social experiences are all pre-Kunark EQ. There's something about a completely abusive world that brings people together.
The $10 out of the bargain bin that the game will cost you is worth it for the (at least) two evenings of nostalgia you'll get out of the game.
Most people are in the 30s/40s that I've seen. Lots of guk/solb/sk action. A few oasis groups float around as well, and there's more than a handful of 1-10 players on at any given time. The difficult part now is remembering that (unlike WoW) waving to random people or asking someone to group up is not a
bad thing.
