The problem is that the opposition are mostly pvpers and Nihilum doesn't care about pvp. I know that sounds like an insult that has gotten very old but its just truth. A guild member of yours above the quoted text rambled on a couple pages of how excited he gets to raid with his guild members. That isn't what most pvpers want.

Red 99 consists of about 20% people interested in PvP and 80% PvE. This didn't happen on live because there were a ton of blue servers to pick from. If there was a shit PvE group they could find a less competitive server. On Project 1999 there is only one other server to choose from and it happens to be a PvP server.

This dynamic has forced the pvpers to try to organize on PvE scale to engage in competitive PvP. The potential leaders from Azrael would most likely be best at organizing small guilds of 10-15. If all the guilds were 10-15 strong Nizzar's group would fall to a Kringe squad. We all saw the frustration Kringe had when trying to lead a full army.

Nizzar is good at what he does and is able to squash any kind of opposition the pvpers of this server are going to organize. Nizzar plays non stop and is able to deliver on what he promises the guild, pixels.
Again Everquest is not about PVP. It never was designed to be a PVP game.

PVP is the spice to PVE.
