There is actually a very strong argument to be made for the idea that many (most?) people lack the tools to perform well in modern society as dwarfdude pointed out. The solution on the right is to allow those individuals to fail and suffer the indifference of reality. The solution on the left is to make performance compulsory under penalty of death. The intermediate state on the left is routed through social libertarianism with social welfare underwriting by the state and foreign investment subsidizing struggling individuals. Works fine until the external resource pool becomes exhausted or otherwise inaccessible.
