If I were you I would first look to the Druid class. While Enchanter has most everything going for it, you will unlock things that allow you to really see the world at an earlier stage on a Druid. It's also not a bad first character because even leveling a Druid into the 30s will give you a means of funding future endeavors [by way of ports.] So, I'd say:
1) Druid. Snare at level 1. Root at level 5. SoW [speed buff] at 14. Self ports at 19. Etc.
2) Bard. Selo's [run speed song] at level 5. Invis by early 20s?
Also just read up and see what roles sound appealing to you over the duration of your time in Norrath.
