AFAIK there is no way to turn off the retarded looking mercenaries and illusions that people can get/buy.
Like 95% of the upgraded models in EQ live are objectively worse than their previous versions. It's sad.

I've hated the luclin models since I first had to download that patch which melted down my pentium 1 pc to load out my main which ended up looking like a turd. No offense to anyone who likes 'em but I absolutely cannot stand them myself.
