Proposing a hypothetical to you, if you were Russia or China (who republicans both fear are a imminent threat to America) would the best time to invade not be during a civil war so that america is conquered much like they conquered the land initially with the native inhabitants both fighting 2 different enemies at once, and then the remaining diminished force gets plowed through easily by the unified invading force?

Nope, it would perhaps be the worst time. It would be like seeing two brothers fighting and trying to start a fight with their mother who is trying to break up the fight. It would galvanize both sides against one common enemy.
