With the new 2H upgrades on Blue, I would say do 1H until level 30, when your damage cap goes up to 60, then swap to 2h. Easiest path would be Ebon Mace to Reaver.

Speaking of servers, I'm on Red, everything you wrote is the same for red I would assume?
