The more popular servers had pretty bad queue's. The less popular ones were in the 2-3k range.
I didn't play WoW until about 2007 when the starting areas were ghost towns. This is a much more pleasurable experience.
The players diving in and out of groups solely to get "their" part of whatever quest they are working on is highly annoying after exp groups in EQ lasting for hours as opposed to minutes in WoW. This is going to make it hard to build any type of community in the early game.
