As to people getting they're items back that is a question mark with each case. But Account stripping has ALWAYS resulted in a ban. There is like 10 ambiguously worded TOS rules they could throw at account stripping.

No one took a ban when my accounts got stripped. Actually the only action taken against a player because of that was a 2 week suspension for me the victim of the theft.
