I have stances on many issues. They just don't fit nicely into any particular ideology, because no ideology is sufficiently nuanced. My guiding principles are temperance, reason and compassion, with the understanding that none of those principles are infalliable and truth is paramount.

The problem with any ideology is the assumption that it's framework will always deliver the right conclusion from its front door. Sometimes the answer emerges higher up a chain of thoughts, or along an entirely different line of reasoning. When we begin associating entire sets of ideas with ideologies we view as competing or contrary to our own, we become quick to disregard them without investing the critical inquiry due every idea of any magnitude. Ideologic adherence is blinding.
