Kind of makes me think there's some credence to the lab leak theory as a result because genetically it looks so different from other viruses we've seen in the past.

My FIL is pretty high up in vaccine research, worked with Fauci, etc. He's quite confident COVID did indeed come from a lab in China, but we'll never be 100% certain.
