Looks like it might have been EXG lore. This is from ZAM in 2003:
“ Reading the posts and soloing in the exg area for a long time I've learned that the exg is not 100% MR. Although you probably will have a very hard time getting a root to stick, i've had my Icewurm fang proc and land on him. its got considerable lower Cold Resists. “
