Some rules are just over bearing unless there's real disregard or blatant abuse going on. It's against the law to fly an American flag if it is not in good condition but I've seen tattered and even worse looking ones fly over businesses and homes. I am not advocating for crude or obscene names but if someone wants the name Poptarts Rgood... who cares....
People have burned American flags in America and the flag code was used to arrest them. The case went up, if i recall correctly, to the supreme court and they ruled that the first amendment allows people to burn, trample etc flags as a freedom of speech issue. So the flag code is pretty much unconstitutional.
