Resonant and Melodic are almost identical. It's just easier to go to PoG and <br/>farm Resonant than it is to quest for Melodic in Thurgadin.

Highsun armor from Skyshrine was superior to the above in every way <br/>
(example: BP has 50 AC). It had a yellow guardian armor look. A couple <br/>
patches ago it was changed to Twilight armor with a dark gray guardian armor <br/>
look. Stats are same as before, they just changed the name and color.<br/>

Troubador armor from Kael is the highest AC armor for bards (BP has 54 AC). <br/>
It had a teal guardian armor look. A couple of patches ago the tint on the <br/>
armor was changed to burgundy, but the name and stats are the same to my <br/>
knowledge.

If these are the bard SS arms, where do the Vambraces of Highsun (http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=5297) come from? Originally, I thought the Highsun pieces were the bard SS quest armors for arms, boots, and helm.

Highsun armor was renamed to be twilight.

The hardest quest are the skyshrine quests which gives you Highsun Boots, Bracer, Helm, and Vambraces. There is also skyshrine quests for Twilight armor. I don't know which is better because there is no such thing as a highsun bp and no such thing as a twilight helm so maybe there is a connection between the two. Same set of armor different names? they come from the same place. I thought there was only one type of skyshrine armor per class. Hmmmmmm

The name of the bard Skyshrine armor was changed from Highsun to Twilight some months back. There is no quest for Highsun armor now. Only Twilight.

Above, one commenter claims that there was no Highsun Breastplate or Helm of Twilight.

And yet, the Helm of Twilight is listed as being in the Scars of Velious expansion on Allakhazam as well as other sites...

Since Bards are a plate class, I would imagine that the upper-echelon armours are in fact plate. A guess, but an educated one, methinks. =)

It appears that the commenter at the top of this post was incorrect in saying that the breastplate had 50ac (which is actually the armor count for the Breastplate of Twilight), but they did provide a rough estimate of when the change from highsun to twilight occurred. It seems plausible that this change occurred before many bards were able to collect the required turn-ins and complete the full set. Still, there is no information about the greaves, assuming they existed. More research later as it becomes available.
