It happened to me many times on EC mules. I sometimes log the mule in before going to bed when I'm looking to buy an item, so I can check the log the next day for the items I want and maybe find the sellers online later on and whatnot. Or at least get an idea of going prices.
Usually the character would be still logged in when I wake up.
Sometimes dead in WFP - people invariably train shit to the tunnel. Sometimes it was back at the login screen - I suppose an internet hiccup causes this.
But sometimes it would be back at the character select, and I never knew why. Would be interested in knowing why this would happen.
