Nope. I am not a fan of Hawkings, nor a great admirer; and I'd like for him to be wrong about a few other of his predictions. But he did write some noteworthy passages which few others could have in our time.

To be clear, it's not a matter of how smart one is, but their ability to consider, ponder, and "look at oneself" as you suggested I do. You're the one saying that smart people are forced to think objectively, which is about the stupidest thing I've ever heard.
Intelligence isn't the be all end all like you apparently think and bias can cloud anyone's judgment.
Every man has flaws and no one is an expert at everything.
He's was a Physicist. Not a political expert.
He even said in the video that he can't explain it.
So why would you value his opinion.
The man told you he can't explain it.
It just makes you look stupid.
