I mean, if you have a problem with something a group member is doing, kick them from the group. The Ranger won't be able to out-DPS your group so won't be able to loot anything. Easy.
Also, just FYI OP not to put you down but there is no such thing as an "unknown" camp on this game. If you're at a camp that generates decent plat and there's never anyone there it's either because (i) there are much better options for plat at the given level range or (ii) there's just no one leveling in that level range that frequently (often the case on both servers now that they are top heavy).
