https://www.project1999.com/forums/s...d.php?t=340176. It helped me fix abnormally loud environment sounds while keeping other sounds from getting too quiet. It also addresses bag & merchant sounds.
All of the file links seem to be dead in that thread. Luckily I have saved the sound files from when I had this issue. Just make sure you backup the existing files just in case there is an issue and you need to revert.
