I always do / all on red and individually send tells to all players online.

i've been the sole player a few mornings.... it definitely hits 0 in game but there's always someone afk at char select

What happens if I create a character on red? Do I just get ganked 24/7 while trying to level until I quit? Is that why no one plays on here?

You can happily solo to 60 without /anon being turned on. Very few people play at all, and most of them are just vibing in their own little corner of Norrath. You may get the occasional passer by try to help out and very sparse PVP around 50+ once in a blue moon.
