![]() 49 fire pet can take you to around lvl 55. Then mobs just have too much hp so switch to earth pets so you don’t pull aggro when raining mobs.

![]() Around Luclin I recall mages could summon pet armor. While some things boost a pet, I expect a pile of banded is doing very little to add to mitigation. Pets are basically attacking mobs near or at their level.
The better gear to give them is a muzzle for haste and a weapon(s) to increase DPS. Argent Defender, Adamantite Bo Staff, Deadwood Staves. Really though, in the mid/high 50’s it’s far more mana efficient to pull with a big nuke and wait for low health to reclaim your pet and finish with a Sigil. Another reason the earth pet is handy….they are rooted so you can blast with less concern. Then you can summon a fresh pet and wait 7 more minute for the respawn. Soloing my mage in this way 56-60 I didn’t even care if I got a good pet or not so that’s another benefit of the disposable approach. | ||
