49 fire pet can take you to around lvl 55. Then mobs just have too much hp so switch to earth pets so you don’t pull aggro when raining mobs.

Greatly boosts pet tankablility. rings of flight for ring slots, coldstones for the weapon slots, mild jewelcrafting(electrum topaz) for some cheap ac earrings

its a part of what makes fire pets great, which is why i was wondering if dyzil can use gear

Around Luclin I recall mages could summon pet armor. While some things boost a pet, I expect a pile of banded is doing very little to add to mitigation. Pets are basically attacking mobs near or at their level.

The better gear to give them is a muzzle for haste and a weapon(s) to increase DPS. Argent Defender, Adamantite Bo Staff, Deadwood Staves.

Really though, in the mid/high 50’s it’s far more mana efficient to pull with a big nuke and wait for low health to reclaim your pet and finish with a Sigil. Another reason the earth pet is handy….they are rooted so you can blast with less concern. Then you can summon a fresh pet and wait 7 more minute for the respawn. Soloing my mage in this way 56-60 I didn’t even care if I got a good pet or not so that’s another benefit of the disposable approach.

Yes I absolutely do this, Dyzil's can't equip items sadly, I tested to confirm for ya.

How about the base attack speed of pets on p99? I've been wanting to add that to the wiki. Gets complicated if it changes between certain pets.

I'd certainly be willing to test that out, any tips on how I should approach that? Parse data?

Any timestamped parser should do, yeah.
