Game Mechanics: NPC Pets and DS

This is a weird one and I can provide logs once I get home. But I hope it's something not too tedious to fix:

When a mob and it's pet are alive, and you have a damage shield on. ONLY the mob will take hits from that damage shield. It is not until the master dies for the pet to start taking damage shield hits.

Example:

Mob hits for 5
Takes DS hit for 20
Mob pet hits for 10
Mob hits for 5
Takes DS hit for 20
Mob is SLAIN
Mob pet hits for 10
Takes DS hit for 20
