Default Mobs resetting when you zone out

So I have tried to split mobs by pulling 2+ to a zoneline, snaring and rooting one, then quickly zoning out and back in. It seems unless there is another player there to pick up agro the mob will reset or walk at normal speed back to its spawn regardless of the snare/root.

I obviously cant be sure with my own mobs, but I have seen other people zone out with trains and have watched the mobs all turn to walk back to their spawn at the same time.

I remember there being some degree of randomness to when they decide to go home. Snares and roots would hold for at least partial duration if you left zone, making this a legitimate tactic for splitting mobs in a pinch. It's also how you could FD split, wait for one mob to start walking and pop back up while the other was still camping over you.

This bug may be intended if it's considered "cheap" to zone-split packs, which I could understand; I just remember it working fine and never hearing that it wasn't allowed back in the day.

Reminds me of Karnor's Castle. You always had to send a tell to the FD monk or necro in your group that survived the massive train to find out which entrance was safe to walk through..... because the mobs went back whenever they damn well felt like it.

good times, good memories [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
