That I may be bringing back the VZTZ server (Garage Box v1 Daxum Edition, Pre-Voidd) myself tonight.
It's not red99, no, not by any stretch of the imagination. But what it is, is EQ PVP without some stupid system added. You guys wanted a form of classic PVP, you got it.
Some things to note:
Quote:
*Null's resist system is in
*Melee is adjusted to be exactly like VZTZ
*The exp rate is not horrid, I want people to get into the action as fast as possible but still give some incentive to group. (1.6 rate)
*It's hosted on a pretty good dedicated box.
*All the fixes and features of EQEmulator are in. If it gets popular I will finish my anti-cheat and add that in too. The anti-cheat will be REQUIRED to play.
* Titanium is REQUIRED right now to play. SoD/SoF/HoT/Underfoot/6.2/Anniversary/Live will *not* work
* It's bound to be buggy. If a crash issue arises, I have ways of fixing them.
* PVP loot is exactly like it was during VZTZ.
* If the playerbase demands classic, it will stay classic.
* Level cap of 50 at all times, classic zones initially during the testing phase. I want to do something custom content, but still in the mindset of classic. If the playerbase demands it, though, Kunark will be finished.
* The database is VZTZ. It's not PEQ, it's not P1999, it's VZTZ's release modified to work with 0.8.0 EQEmulator.
* 1 box limit. I find that boxing 6 characters in PVP ruins the fuck out of things.
* Spellfile is VZTZ's spellfile. If you have the p1999 spellfile, god help you

It may happen today, but if it doesn't it will happen soon. I want to give this community a test whirl and *maybe* get a chance at developing Red99. I doubt the latter will happen though.
The server won't be on the green list, however, it'll be on the whitelist. If I get the go-ahead from Rogean i'll switch it to green provided the population and eqemu devs agree with it.
The reasoning behind all of this? You guys are begging for a home for over 2 months now and have no home. I want that to change. Let's be pals, okay?
