Newb ranger questions

Hello everyone,

I'm getting back in eq after a long long time and have decided to make a ranger on the green server. But I had a couple questions I couldn't find the answers to.

1. When Velious comes out do spells like call of sky and call of fire stack with weapon that have spells procs? Or do you get one or the other?

2. I have read that 2h is the way to go until lvl 50+. Is that mainly because the dmg to delay ratios on 2h weapons are cheaper to get? I guess what I'm trying to ask is pre 50 is a 2h that's say 20/30 the same dps as dwing 2 10/30 weapons?

3. Gearing wise it seems like most people like to get +hp items early. Does that stay true? If not at what point should I be switching to more melee stat items like str and dex?
