Armor Dyes are Not in the Game

I've heard some questions about armor dyes and I thought I'd put an end to the matter. Fine plate armor dyes are not currently in the game. A lot of the components are there, including books on how to dye armor, but a critical component, the "empty flask", which cannot be made by pottery but rather must be bought from merchants, is missing. I suspect that it's some kind of bug that some components for dyes but not others are in the game, but as I don't have any evidence to the contrary, I'm not submitting a bug report. Just thought I'd let it be known in case any other smiths waste an hour hunting dye components.
