Default New to Project 1999. Love it

I played the original version back when I was 12. I still remember the Kunark expansion, heh. Anyway, I'm playing casually. I don't have more time than a couple of hours a week due to being a senior in college. Love the people, love the game, love that it's free. A player already randomly gave me a full set of banded armor and 50 plat.

Anyway, rant aside I had some questions about the expected longevity of this server. Everquest went free for a reason... just not as many people playing anymore. What are the best ways to support this server? Monetarily is on the table, I would be willing to pitch in a few bucks when I have it. Any other ways to make sure the server continues to thrive?

Also curious, why the two-boxing ban? I don't have the computer power to pull it off, but my dad was an old two boxer in his day. Was thinking about wrangling him back into the game, but I would like to inform him of the ban before he does something stupid. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

There was a guild on my live server that was exclusive to people quad boxing, they'd run in kill AoW etc. with 3-5 people boxing up to 5 each, and sell all the loot rights. It causes issues for sure, but it is hilarious to watch. Boxing can easily be done with way better results these days, and 3rd party programs making it a joke to macro every screen all at once. I'd imagine that has part of the reasoning behind it but I really never bothered to look into it.

In my opinion, EQ Live is free to play because they seen they can milk people even more like other corporations for their game they turned into a pile of garbage not due to population. Their EQMac is going strong still and it never changes. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

If you and your dad want to play together, you can put in for an IP exemption in the petition forum... just dont let your dad get caught logging you in to buff himself [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
