Default Mayonnaise

I don't really like it.

I eat it with canned tuna, artichokes, and rarely on a steak sandwich.

That being said, I had a craving for turkey sandwich on sourdough with salt and mayonnaise the other day, and I had everything except the mayonnaise handy.

So, me being me, I looked up what Julia Child had to say on the issue, and she says any decent chef should be able to whipe up mayonnaise on a moments notice without hesitation. So, I did.

And let me tell you comrades, it's a LOT FUCKING BETTER than best foods.

I portioned about half of it and added toasted garlic. Just made a tuna sandwich with that aoli and now I want MOAR!!!

Stop buying mayonnaise for chrissakes, it's easy to make and tastes WAY better when you DIY.

I stopped reading after you said you put mayo on a cheesesteak.

I was referencing a "steak sandwich" which to me is thinly sliced leftover steak on either multigrain wheat or sourdough. Usually with either just mayonnaise and salt or with red onion, lettuce or sprouts, tomato, pickle, and mustard.

What oil did you use, olive? That's probably where you're getting the flavor. Most commercial mayonnaise uses bland oils like soybean or canola. Who wants that on a sammich?

Is this the new green smoothie thread? If so, you need to whisk in a bunch of sugar.

I have to watch my egg intake or... bad things happen.

I substitute anything: avocado, yogurt, sour cream, hummus, salsa, mustard, peanut butter (which surprisingly goes very well with even tuna)... anything.
