New WAR with meager budget

'ey. I just rolled an Ogre WAR, and I have about 1k to spend on him. Peanuts, I know, but if any of you could point toward some cost effective items in slots that would need to be filled first, I would be one big, dumb, smelly, yet grateful Ogre. A friend was kind enough to donate an Obsidian Shard and a Ring of Shadows. I'm currently contemplating a Cane of the Tranquil and a Crafted Helm (from the quest in the Karanas).

definitely get a couple 5ac/55hp rings

cobalt gauntlets and boots are great bang for your buck. 25AC on each one of them, and they go for about 500p usually (sometimes cheaper)

Sword of Skyfire, Painbringer, Clawed Knuckle Rings, Glowing Bone Collar, there are some bracers that have AC and like 20 Hp, Black Iron Girdle, Tattered Mantle, Black Iron Crown...

Greater light stone turn ins at South Ro. Do it.

Hang out in Steamfont and try to loot a Trochillians Skean off Renux (rogue epic kill its farmed A LOT). Also you could hang out in Kithicor when a guild is killing General Vghera and try to loot a rotting Scimitar of the Ykesha which drops off the Adjucant every time! Both weapons are great for aggro once they begin to proc, even tho the ratios arn't amazing.
