Default Crash after station name/password

So I get to the login screen, station name and password. I've looked on the forums and eqemu forums as well but mostly the questions there are after they get to server select.. so I can get to station name / password once I enter, I get "eqgame.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close" once I click to see what data this report contains since it tries to send an error report it says "Error signature: AppName: eqgame.exe AppVer: 0.0.0.0 ModName: eqmain.dll ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 0003r5ac. I've already changed eqhost file and did the shortcut trick so it wouldn't update. Also added the latest changes file. Not sure what else to do, thanks.

I can tell you that most of the issues I've run into with the game not starting properly stemmed from windowed mode not being set correctly in eqclient.ini. For starters, open that file in a text editor and see that you have lines that look like this:

Code:
WindowedMode=TRUE

WidthWindowed=1024
HeightWindowed=768
WindowedWidth=1024
WindowedHeight=768
If the height/width numbers are different, that's probably fine. Any resolution you want should work. I think all that matters is that both resolutions match, and that WindowedMode is set to true.

Are you using WINeq2?

http://www.project1999.org/forums/showthread.php?t=2651

Step 4 - Optional WinEQ
Many users experience problems with proper CPU/Core Utilization or crashing which can be fixed by using WinEQ2. You can download this program from Lavishsoft.

No I tried to get it to work with WinEQ but I could never get back to the same point as far as to the login screen. when I tried with winEQ it'd crash immediately with the 0c0000 error

What is your shortcut directory for the eqgame.exe?

Type it out here once.

Yes, just to rule things out or to stall till someone else comes to help...

move your EverQuest folder to a new folder directly under C called: project

so your directory will change to C:\project\EverQuest

and your shortcut will be: C:\project\EverQuest\eqgame.exe patchme
