Default R.I.P MMORPGs... 1999-2004

Well boys, it's been a fun ride... I truly believed it was "possible" to re-experience what MMORPGs were like once: Believable alternate world, exciting, dangerous, huge social commitments, friendships, etc

It is time to accept that there will only be SINGLE PLAYER MULTIPLAYER RPG GAMES.

You will be able to: 1) change class whenever u feel like it

2) Solo to max lvl in 2 weeks

3) And do it without talking with anyone

4) Troll and be rude as much as you wish

5) Maps and arrows to every quest

6) LIVE ACTION, Press meaningless spells constantly

7) Only die if you're afk or u hit a mob higher level than u

..... Welcome to WOWNEXT!

No man. There will be a new great game, but it will come from left field (i.e. an unknown/indie).

the WAY we play has to change... IE Ocularis / Illumiroom / Omnidirectional treadmills

luckily, that is ALL here... ill just keep playing everquest on the new systems and hopefully they'll port EQ1 to voxels and make seasons change or something, that would blow my load

Well we should be able to get the tools to build the eq kunark-velious worlds. They're giving them away with the game but we'd probably need a stand-alone version. Then rework the old character models and there ya go. Would probably take quite some time but then again if enough people work on it..and the system for building the world seemed simple enough! Ya know what, I bet most people here would hate it. Not classic they would scream.

Sounds like the last 2 mmo's I've played. Was into them for about three to five weeks then right back to EQ full-time.

Thought EQNEXT has nothing in common to WoW about it. My only concern is regarding instancing which I haven't heard about still.
Truth is what you were expecting was Everquest classic with improved graphics.

It has nothing in common "to WoW" ????

1. Orcs look like WoW orcs

2. Humans look like WoW humans

3. Graphics are cartoonish like WoW

4. Probably solo to max lvl without talking to a single player

5. No need to think while playing, just mash buttons faster (WoW)

6. No time to communicate, ur moving around so much while fighting

Yeah, there's NOTHING like WoW.
A bunch of anti-social players, it's all going to be a coincidence! Absolutely nothing inspired by WoW's culture of "quick, fast, Everyone is a HERO"

I dare you to prove to me that EQnext would be the SAME GAME if WoW had never launched??? ( oops, that would require thinking)

Seriously? Those graphics look like they were pulled straight from WoW, I atleast want my MMORPG to look/feel like its a possible alternate world. Why would I want to play with tony the tiger and kung fu panda? lol, im not 8 fucking years old and this shit isn't the golden compass. This was supposed to be EVERQUESTNEXT, not SOMEKNOCKOFFNAMEDEQNEXTINORDERTOMILKPEOPLELIKEYOUF ORMONEYS.

Please tell me in what way this game is related to EQ at all, besides the word being in it's title? Fuck they callin it EQnext for if its nothing like the original?
