To all of the EQNext hopefuls out there.
It's gaming in the year 2013
It's an MMORPG It's SOE Y'all are suckers if you're expecting anything beyond generic and F2P in a year and a half. Just felt the need to point that out to you. | ||

All of their supposed new concepts they are adding that they take so much pride in already exist in other games or our ideas they have already applied to previous MMOs in certain instances and have failed miserably with.
Personally when I was hearing all the things they think sound great, it's going to turn out like FFXIV and we will eventually be seeing a complete redesigned game for 2.0. | ||

Looks like crap to me. Seems like it is a semi 3d environment with no free moving camera. Models look like shit. Graphics also have too many particle effects for my liking. Content seems promising but I don't expect them to follow through with 1/4 of what they hype up, just like always.

What other mmorpg has the world made of voxels? IIRC, that tech was invented in the last year or so? I remember watching about the indy dev who dev'd it in "independent games, the movie" or whatever on steam..
That alone makes it worth test driving imho.

Nah voxels been around since the dawn of time. Just not in mainstream games. And not as destructable landscape.
http://web.archive.org/web/201006151...h/paradise.htm But its been figured out forever. Its just never been marketable to AAA studios till now. EQ Next would be the first to use it as a main feature. I think some other games have voxel tech in them but their not used except in special circumstances. | ||

In other words they can call it a voxel engine all they ... that doesn't mean you can minecraft in EQnext even.

U mad brah? They specifically said its not for u fan babies , it's for people sick of these bullshit MMO's. aside from p99, I play a little vanguard still.. Ill play these until I try EQN . After that it's either great and I play. Or I quit all MMO's and this genre is failing , and they broke what didn't need fixing . Catering to the lowest common denominator... What do you expect. Excellence? Barely functioning in this world will get u a 7/10 for anything u do. | ||
