Default starting fresh, what classes are most needed?

Found out about this game through a friend. I want to come play and I'll be starting out fresh since I don't know anyone playing it now. Used to play in a pretty awesome raid guild on nameless back in the day. Considering playing either a Monk, Bard, or Necro. What is everyone looking for these days and which would I benefit from playing fresh? I remember necro was pretty easy solo, and I remember bard almost always being able to get a group. Monk just appeals becuz I never played one and remember them being badass. Anyone care to help me decide?

Necro (aggro or fear kite) and Bard (AE kite) are both easily able to solo pretty much naked.
Monk needs a lot more gear, but hey... They are badass, and a lot of fun to play! [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Getting groups is (in my experience) by far easiest as a monk. Bards have a very big xp penalty, and most groups will simply rather pick another dps over a necro.

You could also consider an enchanter. Not extremely geardependant, loved in groups and stupidly strong solo (charm)...

Chanter DPS is pretty non-existent without a charmed pet, but if you're playing an enchanter without a charmed pet you're doing it wrong. With a pet, enchanters are arguably the highest DPS class in the game, but there are a lot of factors to consider with that as well.

Chanter will probably be the easiest class to get a group with. There are a lot of them, but most solo or duo, and between soloing, duoing and full groups, you should never really have a problem getting EXP.

Only real downside to a chanter is that most of their utility doesn't transfer well to raids. If you have an enchanter or two on a raid you're set, where as no one ever complains about too many monks, rogues or wizards.

So chanter probably one of the most fun, easy, and useful classes in terms of leveling and solo play at 60, but if you want to raid a chanter might feel kind of slow and even a bit like you're just a buff bot.

And DT taker.

But outside of raids enchanters are a pretty sweet deal.

Except in The A-Team, where our chanters rock charmed pets for pretty much every fight.
