Lava Pit in Naga's Lair

Anyone know if there's a way out of the huge lava pit outside of Efreeti's room in Soldungb? Thought you could swim out into sola or something, is this still possible?

Be prepared to heal yourself if you're a slow swimmer (if you can). But there is a tunnel in the bottom that heads over to the lava river (near lilli pads) and comes out at a sonic bat across from Guano Harvester pathway.
