![]() I just got my Rogue to 13 and got Dual Wield. I was curious what was status quo or popular with Rogues regarding which weapon types they use?
I understand that you HAVE to have a Piercing weapon in the main hand in order to Backstab, but what does everyone use in Secondary? What is best? Slashing > Piercing? I have a Slashing weapon in my offhand atm, but it was all I had available. Thanks guys!

![]() People generally use the best ratio they can afford for offhand, regardless of 1hb/1hs/piercing. Some people use slower weapons when possible, but I don't really see any good reason to do that. I think people claim that a slower weapon is less aggro, but that would only be true in mainhand where damage bonus factors into the aggro equation so that faster weapons generate more aggro than slower weapons of the same ratio; you hit damage shields slightly fewer times and have slightly less push... not a big deal really.
Sometimes it is helpful to have a slow proc or a snare proc or a stun proc in your offhand, but this doesn't come up very often and it usually doesn't make a very big difference anyways.

![]() Thank you, Tecmos.
I went with a piercing weapon in my offhand, since my skill level was maxed. I was just trying to be smart about it, but I'm relieved to hear there's no cookie-cutter way about it.

![]() Ratio is the only thing that matters. That being said, you never know what you're gonna buy or find in the future. It's smart to keep your weapon skills trained up, if only so you never have to do it again. I hate blunt weapons, personally.
