If you really want a laptop get one with a dedicated graphics card. Do your research. You won't find what you really want/need at a retail store most likely.

thanks everyone for the feedback!
maybe i should expand on the context; I'm not from the United states. the exchange rate from my currency to yours is about... 7 to 1, so electronics are not cheap to buy. Locally, they are twice as expensive (e.g a laptop with an intel celeron dualcore processor -1.8ghz- with 4 gb ram ddr3 and a HDD with 500 gb capabilities goes for $700 US dollars... and these laptops have similar capabilities for half the price). So, as my father will be visiting my step brother for thanksgiving, he told me that if i wanted to, i could buy the laptop online, have it delivered to my step brother's house, and he would take it back when returning to my country. Now,i know those computers are not state of the art ones, but as i explained before, it would be really hard for me to spend over 300 dls. Are there any better options below the $300 rate? (i could stretch about $20-$30 more if it makes a significant difference) if not, given that i have slim pickings... which one will be the best bang for the buck?
i though toshiba > acer, but tripper here said he is regreting getting one.
thanks for the replies!

I'd recommend seeing if you can find an older ASUS gaming laptop. I took a quick look around and saw an Asus g74sx that you could get for $500 on ebay; maybe with a little research you could find something cheaper, or perhaps an older ASUS gaming model.

infortunatelly, $500 is way past my budget... that is more than 70% of what i earn a month... as i said, i can't stretch more than $300- $330. I know i wont get a kick ass machine for that much money... i'm asking which one would be the less sucky one, basically
