![]() I'm going to make a Bard on Red99 to play during off-peak hours where I cannot get a group to grind with. I'm on the fence about whether I want to dump into Sta or into Cha. I'm leaning towards Cha because it'll help with Mezzing, but I want to know how much of a difference Cha makes as far as buying/selling prices with NPCs.
How big of a difference is there between 75 Cha and 100 Cha?

![]() I noticed as a shaman that the lvl 39 cha buff (roughly +30 cha) only added about 2 silver to the selling price of a ~12pp scythe. That's going from 60-90 cha so percentage wise a massive increase. Possibly cha effects prices more if you're indifferent or below to a merchant? This was to the warrior guild NPCs that are warmly.

![]() How much would tink bags cost at max CHA and maybe even charming the vendor to become amiable?

![]() Max CHA for merchant prices is about 110. The effect is indeed noticeable compared to a low CHA.

![]() Just get some cheep cha gear to wear when you merchant. Because it really does make a diff. If you are earning your plat by vendor trash loot as you are levling, I think it is a priority to get your cha up, yes, up around 110-130 or so. Easy enough to test. But, it caps pretty low. You do not need that much to get max vendor prices.

![]() I thought I remembered 105 cha and indifferent faction to be the sweet spot on live - or at least the point of rapidly diminishing returns.

![]() lets put it this way
my rogue has 63 charisma brother's paladin is 100-110, something like that if we're in SolA, and getting those blocks of ore, I can sell one for 35ish PP, he gets over 50pp

![]() Hmm. I don't even bother on my shaman. I have the JB helm with the clickable effect, and it's not even worth the effort for the 3 silver on the scythes.

![]() Gear designed for a bard will have cha on it. I think I put 5 points in cha because I liked seeing 90 instead of 85 as a starting stat. Regardless of how you build your bard, your cha will build up once you start to get gear. The amount of money you make prior to level 50 from selling mob loot is pretty negligible anyway. I mean, once you can even do seafuries in high 40s by charming them back and forth, it's pretty easy to make 1-2k per hour. I'm guessing seafuries are never crowded on red as well.
Hmmm...you do need cha moderately high though for charm to last full duration...but honestly, cha gear is easy to come by as you start to gear out as a bard. I can easily be close to 200 or over if I put on pure cha gear.
