Item names not showing on mouse hover?

A few days ago my client stopped showing item names when I mouse over. The only way I can see item names at this point is to right click or hold down the alt key. Has anyone experienced this and knows a fix?

only way i know is to reboot pc

As dumb as it might sound I actually hadn't considered that. I only reboot my PC once or twice a week. Thanks.
