Default Brownie Merchant Faction

I found a post from April where there was some discussion on the faction tables for brownies.

According to the table, there should be sufficient positive faction hits from being a Tunare (150) worshipping Druid (150) in Wolf form (500) to use the merchants. However this is not the case. The brownies are still dubious to me under these conditions. They are dubious to me both with and without wolf form, it would seem that it is not providing the proper faction adjustment.

Here's a quote from 2000.

Kashi (Enc) used Illusion: Spirit Wolf last night and it bumped her faction from Dubious to Apprehensive resulting her finally purchasing a few spells.

That's definitely not how it was working a while back but this is good to know.

Also it's still not working the way it should be. Druids should definitely be able to trade with brownies in wolf form. Enchanters should also be able to trade with brownies while in an elemental form.

Bug Busted!

  • Wood Elf: Dubious
  • Form of the Great Wolf: Dubious
  • Greater Wolf Form: Amiable
  • Share Wolf Form: Amiable
  • Wolf Form: Amiable
None of these spells worked to increase faction until the patch where the old wolf models went in!

Form of the Great Wolf is using the White Wolf model instead of the Mist Wolf model - incorrectly I believe but I can't say for certain.
Enchanter's Illusion: Spirit Wolf uses the Mist Wolf model as well.

So it would seem that the faction boost was tied to a specific old wolf model - The Mist Wolf model!
Necromancers are noting similar changes with their old skeleton models causing them to become KOS to guards.
The implications of solving this bug are fairly far reaching. I suspect this may solve a few other issues.

If any enchanters (hint hint) would like to test the elemental illusions, let me know and I'll port you over to Steamfont.
