Default Bard AoE spots

Been searching around forums and wiki site looking for suggested areas for bard AoE kiting. I pretty much have it down and would like to explore some other areas. Right now im level 21 and was kiting skeles in Lake of ill omen but they end up being green or high red. Any ideas? id like to know a few spots that will take me up to 30s and 40s as well if anyone knows.

Levels 18 - 24 : East Karana, everything in zone is great
Levels 24 - 30/31/32 : South Karana, everything in zone that doesn't cast which is nearly everything. It gets harder to push to 32, but well worth for the next hot spot.
Levels 32-48/49/50 : Overthere, Eastern/Southern side. Loved this zone, it is a major Bard kiting hot spot. Exp slows down a bit at 47 but still amazing and easy to coast up to 50 and which point you can move to...
Levels 50+ : Burning Woods, much more challenging but still lots of mobs to snag and a few spots to kite them at.

Also, Duxa's UI has weapon/inventory slots in bags and next to the action bar. I have a bag dedicated to instruments/weapons for swapping purposes.

TD Spirocs are another good bard spot 37-52ish if they aren't camped (no casters, mobs are 37-41ish, have relatively low hp). I saw a bard go from 45/46 to 50 basically overnight there (went to bed and he was 45, logged on early afternoon the next day and he was 50 in the same spot)

TD Raptors are good, but high-risk, kiting for 45+.

There's some issues to work around with them (often camped, running into water could get you killed, hard to find a rez, etc.), but when they're available they're basically the best mobs in the game for a bard above lvl 54.

This is a combo of many people's experiences. Feel free to add your own.

• L7ish: The Bandit sister camp in GFay (location #3)

• L10-12ish: The Orcs in LFay (locations #6 & 11)

• L9-15ish: Willowisps in NK or WC. Turn in all Greater Light Stones to one of the gypsies in either Nro or NK. Each one gets you experience and a container that sells back for about 9pp.
• L8-15ish: Bandits in SK. There is a spawn of about 12 bandits on the North shore of South Karana east of the bridge. They are on 6 minute spawns I believe, and they will all agro when you pull, perfect for you bards learning the moves. Pull them and kite them out on the flat area south of them, it has few wanderes.

• L13-15ish: The Derv and Orc camps in SRo or NRo, lulling the casters and taking them out solo afterward. I usually also went in the desert and grabbed some extra roaming undead/dervs. (locations #3, 5, 6, & 10; although more locations in the southern portion are orc camps. I just found those listed to have fewer/no casters.)

• L15-20: Oasis of Marr. Do not try the crocs, according to Hmo, their hitbox is too large. I did Orc warriors from the Orc Highway on the West side of the zone. Warning: This zone is very dangerous, Sand giants will pwn you, ghouls will root you, specters sometimes wander, and A Orc warrior and an Orc Priest in your kite mean you need to zone immediately, they will murder you. Another danger is groups getting mad at you for stealing their mobs along the highway. If you can make it through all this, then you can make some good exp, and the loot isn’t half bad either. Spots: I did my kites east of the gypsy camp, or right next to the southernmost Derv camp. You can also grab some Dervs for your kite. Beware: Ogre and Erudite Dervs are casters, don’t forget your lull song. So if you are patient, and a good puller, you can do well here. Also, there are a lot of Orc Warriors in the Northern desert of the zone from the beach to the west wall wandering around.

• L14-20: Field of Bone. Good spot North East of Kurn’s and a plethora of mobs to kite. You can also kite down in the actual pit. I did the North end of it, mainly Burynai. I did occasionally have a problem where a wolf would chase after and kill my Burynai that were nearly dead. It was actually pretty funny. I like this area because if you want to group, Kurn’s is nearby and has some great experience in it. Bard/Monk duo FTW!

• L16-19ish: LOIO fields. (I did 17 off the skellies/lower level sarnaks between locations #4, 5, 7 & 9. I did 16-20 off the non-caster wanderers between locations #9 and 13). You can probably go even higher if you wanted to here since there is such an abundance of mobs and they all love to agro. I bet a bard could do two levels in one kite here.

• L17-24ish: East Karana - Gorge hounds are great on the North side of the zone around the Beholder’s maze zone. Watch out for the Evil Eyes. I usually grab a bunch of these guys and kite them on the Northwest coast, watch out for the Cyclops. Gnolls are a great kite around #7 on the map. I gather them up and kite them around the Southern shoreline. This shore has zero wanderers and makes for fantastic kiting. Note: The gnolls change from reavers to undead at certain time periods, and I have had a whole kite disappear on me when the time change happened. Merchants: They are actually all over the zone, so I loot everything and run over and sell it.

• L18-35: South Karana – Anything and everything. Beware of non-bard classes and their curious philosophy called “Camps”. Aviaks ¬– Avocets – Level 28 to 30. Watch out for these guys at lower levels. At 21 I did not land a single dot in a full kite. I leave them in and just zone them afterwards. Harriers – Level 24 to 26. Mid level aviaks. Dots will land on them occasionally when they are red. Rooks – Level 20 – 22. I feel like these have a lot of resistance to my dots. Great for my 20 to 24 kites. Do them when they are yellow and white for some great exp. Darters – Level 16 to 18. Egrets – Level 13 to 15. Still give exp at 21, if not much. The Aviak City (KFC) is usually pretty packed and you will hear some complaints when you pull most of the mobs. I pull a few from the city and then head north grabbing any centaurs/aviaks I see on the way north. Between the Centaur Stables and the zone to NK are many harrier and rook wanders that are great to add. Also, check around the bard well. Once you get to about 25 start adding avocets and harriers. You can add the centaur chargers, but they have high resists. I recommend staying here until atleast 31, since OT will own you before that. Also check the hermit for his two gnoll static spawns and two centaurs when stuff is starting to get light blue.

• L20-26: Iksar outcast camps in WW and the lower level field portion of OT. (WW locations #B, 9, 10, 11 and OT field between locations #5, 6, 9, 10). OT is off-the-charts exp at this level range. If you can gather up the whole area, you are looking at ~45min/level during this range.

• 26-28: The EXP really started to slow down in OT, so I headed back to WW and continued on the iksar outcast camps there. Was slower, but I didn't have to spend half my kite gathering up LB mobs.

• 29-30: I am doing this portion on the Drolvargs in FV. I have to admit, this range is by far the most dangerous I've done so far. The drolvargs are larger than most MOBs I've kited so far, and therefore have a larger hitbox, while I still have to be within 35 measurement units to hit them with my 18 dot. I have really perfected my distance/selo's speed, while also dieing much more than I would have liked in this level range. I gather up yellow/blue drolvargs while avoiding froglocks (especially casters) and other red dogs. It's actually not that hard to do. On this map of FV, I gather drolvargs from the area surrounded by points #3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, and A on the map, and then I take them back towards the NorthEastern Swamp of No Hope zone line as there are no wanderers back there. I'd recommend only pulling a few until you perfect your skills, as I have gotten stunned and 1-rounded (or even not stunned and one-rounded) more often than I'd like to admit. These dogs can take me to probably 35 or so, but I think I may try to find some MOBs to kite that aren't quite so deadly. The good news is I can sell/bank without zoning.

• 31-48: I went back to OT and started kiting the Western/Southern areas of the zone. Basically any blue-red mob (besides dragoons) between the Outpost, SF, FM, the center valley and location #10 on this map of Overthere is fair game. I do recommend you pull only cockatrices, tigers, and cacti. They all move at the same speed. Rhinos move faster, but selos is much faster and a rhino-only kite would certainly work. Some Sarnaks cast, and I'm moving way too fast to check names to see if I'm about to pull a caster or not. This post shows some kites where I had probably 50+ mobs in my kite (figuring 1-2%/kill, and I know I made 100% of a level for each of those 2 kites). You can make some pretty awesome pulls. I've pulled so many that the dot spam insta-crashed EQ to desktop (creating a crappy CR).

• 40-53ish???: Dreadlands: TONS of mobs here, so watch out. I tried a kite of all chickens, but it was hard to find a clear spot. Geigue says there is a clear area near the BW zoneline.
• 46-53 – Spirocs and raptos in TD. Many necro/mages/druids will frown at you though.

• 46-60 – Apparently it is possible to go all the way to 60 on Bees in Burning Wood. Be very careful of Gullerback the named gorilla, he can summon.

BW is way better than raptors from 50-60. Until your high 50s, you can pull 20-40 dark blue mobs in BW in a few minutes. Even at 56-60 you can get an average of 10-20 dark blues per pull.

BW has too much bullshit like giants, wurms, casters, resistant mobs (Scoriae Hornets), etc., for my tastes.
