Default The Ishva Mal

Looks like this guy is still on a 36 hour spawn cycle as there is no PH for him in his room. According to ZAM this probably should have been changed awhile back to a 25min PH.

The Ishva spawn has changed....

No longer a 18,24,36 or whatever people think it used to be. It is now a 25 min spawn with PH. The PH is an Ishva Lteth Gnoll, which is like the Rosch class in that it can be any caster, ENC, MAG, WIZ, NEC. I have seen mostly MAG and a few NECs and ENCs but no WIZ yet. Also the Nisch Guards still spawn in there but I believe they are still on the old cycle because I saw them twice over a 2 day camp of the room. The room can be done solo by a 49+ NEC, I did it easily at 51 with a 53 dmg pet. Had about 5 Ishva spawns with 2 scrolls, no robe, and brains everytime. Looks to be one Ishva Mal for evey 4 Ishva Lteths. Good Luck.

k, I will make the spawn change for November 2000.

A few things, so when I do the work I can get it right the first time.

-How many guards should be in the Ishva room? I only see 1, but comments suggest there were guards on both sides of Ishva.
-Comments about Ishva Mal using a complete healing potion. I assume this refers to the 'Potion of Serious Healing' that may drop. Traditionally did the Ishva complete heal?
-Should the guards have 2 hour spawn times?

He spawns in the Ishva Mal room with two guards on either side of him. Because he is a necromancer, he casts many dots. You will want to get your disease and poison resist up. He also has a complete heal potion on him. This he will use. It can be interrupted.

This mentions 4 guards, which would be the 2 outside door, 1 in room, and ___ ?

The next nite we sat in the main Forward room, killed the three guard knolls which popped, Dark blue, and rough (remember those adds I mentioned?). killed 4 guards in all before the ischva mal popped. Actually his wimpy brother, Ischva something (not mal) popped after killing guards initially, 30 min after we killed wimpy brother, Mal popped, he healed himself and hits hard.

She is still a Necro, has a spawn time around 30 minutes with either her or the Ishva Leth Gnoll, Guards have a 2 hour spawn time.

this page: http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=2563 makes it seem like Ishva never actually used the potion. are there any mobs anywhere that use items from their inventory (proccing weapons aside)?

Well this post makes it sound like there is one guard in the room and from other posts 2 guards outside the room with the guards being on a 2hr spawn timer. It also shows that he uses necro spells and a complete heal of some kind. I think the 4th guard mentioned in the post above is probably the PH.

My friend and I went in and camped it with some success. Here are some facts. First off it does not always drop the summon corpse spell!!!!!! The first one we killed (Ishva Mal, not the ishva leth POS) only dropped the brains!!! I was so pissed off, we had to kill 2 or 3 Ph's and another ishva mal spawned before and it had the spell [You must be logged in to view images. The first ishva we killed casted BOTH necro DD's and complete healing spells and only had the brains, the second one we killed only casted necro spells and dropped the summon corpse spell [You must be logged in to view images. If I remember correctly it was just one guard inside with him, and some dudes outside a door that were only a problem if he fled.

This is how I recall it as well. I'll see if I can locate a source/pic

This site is from after the era, but this is basically exactly how I recall it always being. Two guarding the door just outside the left/right field of view of the player. And one inside with the Ishva Mal.
