![]() Lets say you roll up on Hadden spawn or some other static spawn with a long repop and there is a guy standing close by as if he's camping it but he's not moving or casting or taking any action. How long should you wait before you take his spawn? What do the rules say and what do people think is a polite reasonable amount of time? Obviously you can't expect to keep your mob if you're AFK. Am I wrong?

![]() Perfectly in your rights to tag after a couple of minutes of afk with a static spawn standing there. I would send a tell or just /say so there's a time-stamped message of you inquiring if they are AFK

![]() gm's confirmed 2 minutes is a long enough time to claim / engage / kill / turn in a mob if afk upon spawn

![]() As far as I am concerned, all camps are open or all camps are closed.
Either you allow the former or you follow the latter - we can't have it both ways. If someone is at a spot, and the mob spawns you can either be courteous and let them have it (since they were there first) or, you fight over it. Isn't that part of EQ - allowing people to police people, having a name or a reputation that follows you?

![]() I give them the respawn time if I was to kill the PH. And I always screenshot it and sometimes frap's just encase they try to waste a GM's time for them being afk forever.
So, OOT - AC, 6 mins. So, MM - Dhamp, like 15 mins. These are about the only things I camp ATM.

![]() The argument could be made that the player was there at the camp first, however you must maintain an "active physical presence at or near the contested mob" therefore if he is totally zoned out afk, then you should be able to take it. However, people do need to hop out for a bio break, or to let the dog out, or to grab a smoke, therefore I would say 4-5 minutes would be the way to go, as that is the average dog/smoke time.
Also I would probably say that if the PH is dead, and he is waiting on the respawn, that until that mob pops, he can afk like a pro, because some mobs have like half hour respawns, and still maintain the camp. So if mob or PH is dead, wait until 4-5 minutes after the mob/PH is up, then you can feel free to snag the camp. That's my 2 cents

![]() Quote:
They don't have to be active at the camp between re-spawns, just actively killing the PH as it spawns.

![]() I'm pretty sure they GMs have commented on this before specifically for Hadden. Their input was basically be back a minute before spawn so you are ready to engage at spawn. If you aren't actively ready to kill right at spawn or demonstrating getting ready as opposed to being AFK, then it's fair game for the other person. Obviously this sucks for stuff like Tranix and Hadden, but just to be safe, be there like 1 minute early.

![]() 5 minutes is all I can handle. Got in a big shit fit with a guy at frenzy camp because he had been gone a while. I gave him a /tell saying he needed to get back to the camp if he wanted to keep it. Made for some good fun. Poor sirken had to waste his time showing up though.
