Default Lost Fidelity/History

Star Trek: The Next Generation is being systematically pulled from paramount bunkers in 35mm film, rescanned, and having all the special effects re-rendered.

Every other show from the 80s/90s may face a future where that never happens and we're left with 4:3 betamax/video rips, while the film rots in an above-surface, solar-radiation-unshielded, leaky warehouse.

There's no place in a rants forum for a practical solution though.

Every other show from the 80's and 90's can go ahead and rot. TNG is pretty much the only thing future generations need to witness from that time period.
