![]() Planning on playing WildStar? (http://wildstar-online.com/) Already have your Pre-Order and playing on the Beta Weeekend? Join your friend's from Project 1999.
Currently we are playing on the only PvP Server as the Dominion (Name Here when servers come back up) and have a guild called "My Little Pwny" Come join us for casual fun or if you are planning on trying to play the game hardcore. Great group of dedicated gamer's that are looking to enjoy the new game. We are the type of guild that likes to have a competitive PvP crowd as well as clearing all content. We aren't elitist pricks that will guild remove you for not knowing the game/tactics/etc. Also, post about some of your favorite experiences so far in Beta. [You must be logged in to view images. ![]() Pros:
The best thing I have to note about this game right now is how well they have pulled off a Sci-Fi / Fantasy world that incorporates guns/blasters with traditional swords. Graphics are really funny and cartoony if you're into that WoW sort of thing. I think they look great. Music and Environments are great! Cons: Gear is very complex in the first 10 levels. I don't know why games cannot go back to the Everquest model of small upgrades over the levels with even "High End" gear not being too much better than group-able content beforehand. Sadly I think we are doomed to tons of stats including +crit,+strikethrough, +++++, you get the point... Their talent point system just looks poorly done. The right thought is there but for how graphically good the game is with menu's/etc they should have had a much better system in place for your AAP's*? (Forget what they are called) Instanced zones, just never been a big fan of them. I understand why it has to be done in a way, but I want to run around and see everyone else doing stuff and competing with them for content. Not just switch instance to see which one my friends/group is in.

I'm not saying the game is great, it kind of feels like a WoW clone. But I am really excited to see where it can go and what they do with it. I'm looking for a game that brings back the need to run 5-6 man dungeons and gear grind, running heroics for gear to do raids. Etc. Hopefully they deliver in this front.

![]() The WoW clone aspect, and I found combat to be awful. It was was run around in circles spamming your abilities while dodging the red box/circle.
I leveled up the Spellsinger and Engineer to 10 each. Different sides so I could try out the different camps and whatnot. WAY too WoW with that. I barely was able to log in to get those free beta items(the highwayman stuff and board) because it bored me to tears. Trust me when I first saw info/trailers about the game the humor they displayed drew me in, the game itself repelled me. I should also note I have zero interest in PvP so that aspect never appealed to me.

![]() It feels like a WoW combined with TERA game play for me. These are actually 2 things that will draw me into this game a little bit. However this can be a bad thing as well if they don't do the right thing to keep the game alive.
I though quest mechanics were actually really neat with hitting certain keys at certain times, or hitting the key repetitively to charge up/use something. I do love PvP in open world and even more as Arena's/Arena Teams/WarGrounds/Etc. So excited about that aspect of the game, but nearly as much as just true dungeon grinding for gear. Humor is awesome and has continued through the story for me. I think they have done a great job with story from what I can tell, however the first newbie area did seem a little bland. During the next Beta if you are still excited at all you should try out a Medic/Warrior, they might give you a little more of the change you are looking for. However with an active combat environment anything you play will be dodge and running around from circles/squares/rectangles. lol

![]() Active combat isn't exactly terrible. It's what made me give Tera a go. I think my main problem with it was that it wasn't challenging at all. And didn't really feel fun. I guess I'm more of a WoW rotation kind of person over button mashing. At least with Tera you chained a lot of skills together and attacked to build mana. (I know there's something similar in this but it seemed to have zero impact.)
And I wanted Paths to be something fun, but they all just felt tacked on. Granted I didnt spend A LOT of time on it. Most of the Beta conflicted with FFXIV beta/release and P99 for me. So I abandoned it pretty quickly when it didnt grab me.

![]() Agreed with your first point, but sadly I just feel like gaming like the gold ole days is just gone. There was a way to chain or whatever it is in Wildstar but I don't think we are going to get much play with it til level 30+ to matter I bet.
I also agree paths don't feel polished yet. However I feel like this is something that can be cleaned up easily before launch as it is mainly a user interface problem, the system itself seems solid from what I could tell. If I would have been in the FFXIV beta, I might have opted to play that one more as well, being a die hard FF fan.

![]() It was a blast, it made me love the game....until launch when they did the cross server dungeon queue. That killed it for me. I got to 50 on my Dragoon without knowing a single person. Joined a couple guilds that outside of the creation click talked to no one. A very lonely game.
Ended up with a 50 Dragoon,45 Summoner/Arcanist, 50 GoldSmith, Blacksmith, Weaver, Miner...maybe one or two more tradeskills before calling it. See the problem I have with your first two points there is how can they expect me to throw down/subscribe to something that isn't finished/working yet. (Yes I know it's a beta, but with the game launching relatively soon...should be more complete IMO)But at the same time I don't want it to eventually be fixed and awesome, then be so far behind the curve that nothing is new and fresh, lose/lose! =P

![]() Very Lonely Game doesn't sound exciting at all...
Honestly, I think WE ALL have unreal expectations from MMORPG'S at this point and compare them to games that have had massive budgets, massive teams, etc. Just look at this classic server and how accurate they spend their time to get every little bug the way it was back then. It took years to get EQ "Polished", same thing with WoW, anyone from WoW Beta to when the game came out, it wasn't "Polished". These games always had all sorts of problems, bugged stuff, patches needing to be done monthly if not weekly. Constantly making the interfaces better and more user friendly, etc. As far as new ideas, well you can only come up with soo many new idea's. As soon as the first person does truely come up with the new big thing, there won't be another MMORPG as popular as EQ/WoW/DAoC/Etc til then. I was hoping SWG was going to do it for the Star Wars fan I am, but end game was a joke and buggy as shit. We live in the day of the Carebears...
