Game Mechanics: Pet aggro

I am not sure if this was changed last patch or not, but I have never previously seen the behavior. If you send your pet on a NPC pet and then lets say the pet's owner is mezzed; once the NPC pet dies your pet will start attacking the owner (which breaks mezz) without being told to attack. I noticed it in Plane of Hate where we usually use pets to CC/kill various NPC pets. It's more annoying than anything.
