Default Interrupting Dragons

You SHOULD be able to cast a stun spell and interrupt a dragon's spell casting.

This lady is very very hard she hits for 255 dmg COMPLETE HEALS HERSELF which can only be inturrupted by casting a stun spell on her it wont stun her but will inturrupt her every time she melees she has a chance of hitting your tanks with a spell called Dragon Roar which is a AE Fear spell that will send them all running and its very hard to resist as well unless your severly buffed with MR which you should be if your half way competant well thats vox

Yes Vox and Naggy cannot be stunned as for the spell and bash attacks. BUT those things will still interupt their spells. It was said on that patch message, that yes the spells can be interupted by Stuns even tho that will be the only affect of the spell/bash.

7. *Enchanters*: Save all your mana for the stunning and restunning of Vox when she gets to about 40% health. Lag can be hideous during these raids, so you may want to begin at about 45-50%. If the CH goes off, you go home in a body bag. I guarantee it.

No sh*t Sherlock! Didn't you read the freakin stuff above! The stuns aren't to STUN her! They're to stop her from casting! Get your head out of your $%@ !!!

Im a lv51 Paladin and I only have two stuns, which dont work on most giants and very few wurms for the stun effect, but good for spell inturuption, clerics have many stuns, but unless your Paladin poor for the raid, Cleric should be healing and not have to worry about inturupting spells. Also its had to see these big dragons casting so try stunning every 10 seconds or so if you got at least 3 paladins, 15 seconds for 4, ect. This should keep any MOB from casting a spelll. Add a shild to bash and Vox doesnt stand a chance.
I am also *pretty sure* that you SHOULD NOT be able to get on one side and push the mob to prevent the mobs channeling.

But its pretty difficult to disprove something that never existed during classic. There are 0 references in any classic guides to suggest pushing from one side to prevent a spell cast. They all talk about draining mana or stunning.

Works like this with yael on p99 atm i think; stuns appear to land and they interrupt his casting, but he continues to turn and move and melee.

I don't think it's so much the stun "works" but many stuns have a knockback component that will work on stun immune mobs and help with interrupts. I think then the divine stun AA paladins got in Luclin was the first 55+ stun.

Also completely irrelevent since it only became a thing with the 61 air pet but pets could stun anything. I remember fighting quavonis in fire, his shadowstep was like 7 second cast time. If you looked at the logs an air pet would land a stun on him it interrupts right away.

Wouldn't knockback only interrupt at the end of a cast? The stuns I've cast on yael seem to interrupt immediately.

November 2001

Quote:
At about 40 to 50% health, raid leader shouts for the nukers to come inside the lair. Start nuking your asses off as soon as you are in melee range. If not, your spells will not stick! Melees taunt max to keep aggro off of casters. Paladins and everyone who can stun (melees in general: Use sheilds if you can for bashing) starts to chain stun her at this point. She will try to heal now, so it is important to interrupt her.
Unknown Date... Pre Luclin cause it references White Scales for Cloak and not White Dragon Skin

Quote:
20. [RL: Stun, bash, slam]. Everyone begins chain-stunning, bashing, and slamming Vox. Although, stuns will not actually stun her, it will interrupt her from casting heal spells. Continue to stun her until she is dead. Vox is a cleric AI and will attempt to Complete Heal herself. If she does get one off, it is not the end of the world, it will heal approximately 5k of hitpoints.

Aside from other stupid suggestions made in these guide (as with about 90% of the old guides from back then), it again mentions using stuns to prevent CH/casts on a stun immune mob.

^ this

I think more raids woulda been wise to it and used the stuns if they worked. I specifically remember it was all about getting her mana down asap.

never heard of stunning her ch, and we ALWAYS pushed mobs to interrupt. I think having 40 people push a dragon to interrupt it makes more sense than a lvl 5 cleric spell

So all of these quotes in era are incorrect then? Is that what you're all suggesting?

I've YET to find a single mention of pushing a mob causing a channeling skill fail and interrupting it. I don't think mobs had channeling check until later on and will continue to believe that until evidence is provided from 1999-2001 to prove otherwise.

But as it stands, I think there is enough evidence supporting a stun spell or a bash/slam has a chance to interrupt a spell cast from an unstunnable mob like a dragon.
