Wags from Sullen Zek is reborn!
When Sullen Zek pvp server opened up, countless dark elf noobies came pouring out of Neriak. All were headed straight to the noobie log, slaying spiderlings and fire beetles left and right. In the midst of the fray, a young wizard named Wags was learning his first spells and battle techniques. Nothing could phase this determined dark elf, slaying mobs left and right, and gaining loot, money, and experience. He hit level 6 with lightning speed and rejoiced at his accomplishment . . . then was immediately slain by a rogue he never saw coming. He traveled back towards his body to retrieve his precious items, only to be slain by the same rogue countless times before even coming close to his body. He was faced with a decision: 1. go play on a blue server and avoid the situation entirely, or 2. endure the countless hours (sometimes days) of frustration and constant beat downs so that one far off day you might be able to dish it back out . . .
Wags chose to endure, and remained a member of Sullen Zek on the evil team until the server was closed and merged with all other pvp servers into the Zek server. During his time on Sullen Zek, Wags was a member of such guilds as Da Bashin Iggles, Fall, and Hate. Wags continued his adventure on Zek, remaining with Hate until they disbanded. He then joined Defiant and remained with them until they also disbanded. He lastly wound up in Pandemonium, and eventually retired from the world of Everquest.
My greatest EQ memory of all time: When I was in the guild Fall, we were raiding in the Plane of Growth, and we were ambushed by the leading Neutral team guild (for the life of me I can't remember their name at that time, but it was the Darkenbane, Devine Coalition guys, whatever their name was then). They completely wiped us out, not one of us survived the ambush. Our corpses were strewn all over PoG and the zone in was heavily guarded by the ambushers, it was time to call it a day . . . or was it? Naked, out numbered, starving, the members of Fall withdrew every extra piece of back up gear from their banks, we summoned mage weapons to use as primary weapons, and mage items to equip on naked players, and we launched our counter-attack. What followed was remarkable, astounding, beautiful . . . cooperation like I had never seen before or since, the members of Fall fought as one and we absolutely demolished them.
Though the original EQ experience is now behind me, I would like to relive these glorious days of the game and so I have created Wags, Dark Elf Wizard, on the pvp server. To anyone that fought along side me so long ago, or even fought against me, if you are here playing on this server please feel free to say hello at any time.
