Default Character Animation Question

Quick question...

okay anyone know why I cant see see characters start to cast spells? .. as in I can see the particles of them beginning to cast a spell but then the spell just fades and I cant see them actually make the animation of them moving their hands to finish the spell? I would really like to fix this if i can.

thank u

Are the spell particles opacity set to 100% and turned on in options?

Have you backed up your UI settings and reinstalled?

Sounds like something's up with the install, or you goofed something installing someone's nonclassic UI. Back it up and reinstall the game to see if that fixes it.

Do you have particle density turned off for spells? There are a couple of settings for this which include stuff like yourself and group, or everyone.

I know when I turn spell effects to zero (via /showspelleffects off), all animations for songs on my bard vanish. No little drum strum for selos, no little arms over the head loop for dots, although the regen songs (with the floaty blue particles that form a cone going down through your body, ones off the top of my head are Hymn of Restoration, mana pump song and Niv's Melody of Preservation) never turn off with either spell opacity set to zero or /showspelleffects off.
